Florence Champion
Teaching Principal
Florence is our Teaching Principal at Showtime Performing Arts Academy Oxted, specialising with us in performance technique within dance, alongside character and performance development. She currently works with a variety of aged children, adults and professionals in their Musical Theatre and performance training throughout Kent. Including ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, drama, singing and theatre direction.
Florence has been in training since the age of five years old. She was a full time company member of the Miskin Theatre, training in dance and The English Youth Ballet before continuing on to graduate from Doreen Bird College in 2013.
She has been a free-lance teacher since 2012, producing works for gold medalist competition winners and running various Easter and Summer camps for children in a range of Musical Theatre productions including ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’, ‘Bugsy Malone’ and ‘Wicked’.
Florence’s professional career includes various debuts’ in dance and musical theatre works during her professional training. She has worked with the Bromley County Council in producing films and lectures on safe driving, has had ensemble roles in four pantomime productions. Dance Captain and Assistant Choreographer for the Dartford Amateur Operatic Dramatics Company for their production of ‘Stepping Out’. Florence is a qualified dance instructor in health and safety under the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing examining board; and works regularly as a supporting artist for film work for the BBC and Disney.
Florence is passionate about teaching, musical theatre, encouraging confidence and discipline, as well as nurturing talent and inspiring young creative minds to progress in a future in the world of theatre.
